Overview

The west end offers an immense number of amenities to enjoy, whether it be a romantic walk on the beach or shopping the farmers market for the freshest groceries available.  Below is an overview of just some of the many wonderful experiences the west end has to offer its residents:

Nelson Park (Dog Park, Playground, Community Garden)

Nelson Park offers community members great outdoor amenities including: playground equipment designed for young children, community gardens, grass areas for playing frisbee or relaxing and reading a book and last but not least a great dog park area fenced in so owners can relax and let their dogs have a blast.

Sunset Beach Park (English Bay)

The jewel of Vancouver and the West End.  Roller blade along the sea wall, take a picnic or a leisurely stroll, the Sunset Beach Park offers the best of why living in downtown Vancouver is so amazing.

West End Farmers Market

A place you must check out every Saturday (spring and summer) for fresh produce, fruit and baked goods.  For more information click here.

Robert Lee YMCA

The newly renovated and expanded facility includes all sorts of amazing activities: basketball court, weight lifting equipment, lap pool, squash and racket ball courts, yoga studios, kids daycare and many more.  Membership rates are very reasonable starting as low as $43/month.  For more information click here.

Stanley Park

Stanley Park is recognized around the globe as one of the great park’s of the world. Vancouver’s first park and one of the city’s main tourist attractions, Stanley Park is an evergreen oasis of 400 hectares (1,000 acres – larger than the famous Central Park in New York City) close to the downtown core. Its natural west coast atmosphere offering a back drop of majestic cedar, hemlock and fir trees embraces visitors and transports them to an environment rich in tranquility. The park abounds in wildlife and its features appeal to the naturalist, the plant lover or one who would do nothing more than relax in beautiful surroundings. Celebration of Light

One of the highlights of the summer, the Honda Celebration of Light is the largest offshore pyro-musical fireworks competition in the world that takes place over Vancouver’s English Bay. For more information, please click here.

West End Streets

One of the other advantages of the west end is the tree lined streets, grass boulevards and flowers that make the landscape feel very suburban is an otherwise urban location.  Everything is walking distance and the walks are truly a pleasure.
